Ones & Zeros

It’s almost hard to grasp the transition from film to digital imaging, with film there was aways a sense of age or deterioration, even on the true original film plane. The negatives would end up printing the pictures differently overtime, they would show the age and had no way of looking like they once did. I’m always wondering how digital files will age, will the ones & zeros get lost in each other, will the files not be readable in the distant future? I had the oddest dream the other night, it was almost as if we hit another dark age, an age where the basic computer algorithms were lost. As infinitely age proof our media stands today, I sometimes think that some pigment on tree bark might live beyond the ones and zeros.
